About carotid arteries?

After doing the Doppler examination and CT scan it was concluded that it is a blockage in the bifurcation of carotid arteries 50 and 20 %. I also was diagnosed with a born anomaly in the kidneys (one kidney is split in 2 parts). My urination is normal but with pauses. My doctor said that there may be a connection between the kidney structure and carotid arteries, supposing I have had the blockage in carotid arteries since birth. What do you think, and how is this condition called? Now is there any diagnostic test (without puncture and needles) to determine if the blockage from the neck is born or formed during the years? (my age = 50).
