If only 1.8% of the population is Gay, and it's not a lifestyle choice, isn't such an anomaly a birth defect?

Biologically it's a defect, It's a drag in the species to reproduce. Of course psycologically, it's only a defect if they aren't happy with their situation. Socially it depends.
